Seguin Art League gallery is located at 104 S. Austin Street, Seguin, Texas.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM. Hours are subject to change due to docent volunteer availability.

CLASS SCHEDULE

Clay: Little Fisherman Ceramic Class
Two Day Class
January 24 & February 28 at 1 PM
Clay artist Roger Betschler and writer Joseph Gonzalez will use the narration of "The LIttle Fisherman" to ignite your imagination.
In the two-day class, students will be guided in sculpting their "fish" on the first day. The scuptures must dry out and go through an initial firing, then students will return on day two to glaze adn decorate them. The sculptures will be fired a final time before students can take home their finished pieces.

Acrylic: Birch, Please!
February 11 at 1 PM
Create an original composition of Birch trees utilizing primarily one type of brushstroke for the majority of the painting.
Instructor Jud McCallick will share with students various techniques that call back to Pointillism and Impressionism. Students will be given background on Color Theory with focus on values of individual colors and complementary colors.
Supply list:
- 11"x14" or canvas board or mixed media paper that can withstand paints
- Acrylic paints (black, white, red, blue, yellow, purple, orange and green)
- Brushes and water cup.
- A smock, apron, or old shirt is always encourage in all painting classes.

Loose Watercolor Feline
March 25 from 1 - 4 pm
This is a beginning watercolor class where the student will learn to paint expressive cat eyes and a loose interpretation of fur, nose and ears. The student will walk away with study of facial feline components and with a finished cat on watercolor paper. Join SAL member and watercolorist Cat Bollinger for this fun and innovative look. Please wear old clothes and or an apron as we will be splattering watercolor paint.

Needle Felted Landscapes
APRIL 18 from 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Painting with wool! In this five hour workshop students learn the basics of two dimensional needle felting while creating their own original landscape from photos that inspire you. We will be making mini 6"x6" landscapes using a variety of wool types, silk, nepps and other embellishments. Bring a couple of photos for inspiration. Join SAL member and artisan Marti Swanson for this innovative class. Art supplies provide as part of fee (including felting needles, felting mat, wool, and a matting board to display your finished piece. Bring a drink and/or a snack for the break will take halfway through the class. You will be amazed at the results.
